Albert Nadal (UAB, Spain). Currently working in his final dissertation for graduating in Journalism. He already works as a Sport Journalist in different media: TV3 , M1TV (television), Mataro Radio (radio) and different printed and on line media. He’s interested in the relation between communications, sports and education, as an official trainer of the Catalan Association of Sports.
Darko Flajpan (Croatian RadioRV, Croatia). Born 1975 (Sweden). Working at HRT since 1994 as a Camera Operator, from 2004. as a Camera Operator/Picture Editor, and as a Videojournalist from 2006. producing news and documentaries. Trained at BBC/Circom/Thomson Foundation in Journalism, Videojournalism, Picture Editing and Broadcast Training. Since 2001. Senior Trainer for Circom Regional. Training in subjects: Journalism, Videojournalism and Mobile Journalism. Broadcast Trainer at HRT Academy since 2009.
Jonas Borms (Belgium). He studied social cultural work at Artevelde university college in Ghent, Belgium, and finished a postgraduate in digital design. He works for over 6 years as a media coach with youngsters in the editorial office at Mediaraven vzw. Dejan Oblak (Zagreb University, Croatia). MA in Journalism. He has been working as multimedia specialist on “TV Student” project as chief producer, technical coordinator and graphic designer. Worked on IPA 2012 EU Project – DAY – Different approach to youth as a technical director. Project by Televizija student with the goal of bringing EU and its policies closer to young people on new and creative ways. Participated in several workshops in the field of audio-visual media, such as: Media Literacy with Renee Hobbs (Faculty od Political Science) Camera, direction, editing (Kino Klub Zagreb) Mobile Journalism (Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb).
Ana Melro (UAB, Spain). PhD student in Communication Sciences at the Universidade do Minho, Portugal. Her research is about how young people relate with the news and get informed about the present. She also works as a journalist, holds a master degree in Information and Journalism and worked as a research assistant in several projects concerning new media, children and information.
Philip Penny (IADT, Ireland). Philip gained his MSc in Cyberpsychology in 2009 and BSc in Psychology Applied to Information Technology in 2004 at Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design & Technology, (IADT). He currently works as a full-time researcher in the Directorate of Creativity, Innovation and Research at IADT. He has worked in IADT since 2004. His research focuses on the intersection of multimedia technology, pedagogy, 4G wireless mobile web technologies and emergent Virtual Reality (VR) technologies and how they can deliver learning content and benefit society. Current VR work involves creating a VR experience to recreate a visual impairment or low-vision condition using VR New Media Technologies (VRNMT) to test empathy levels among 3 different groups of people.
Žarko Čižmar (TELECENTAR, Croatia). Žarko Čižmar has over 20 years of management experience, including strategic and operational management of large and small scale projects in the fields of media, education, information and communication, social welfare and humanitarian aid. He is co-author of the occupational standards, qualifications standards and curriculum for the VET media technicians programme and the higher education multimedia designers programme in Croatia. He is also co-author of two handbooks “Telecentre Management Handbook” and “Media Literacy Handbook”, editor of three VET textbooks “Audio”, “Photography” and “Video” and co-author of the survey “Media literacy in Croatia”. He currently works as an executive director in Telecentar and the project manager of the “Generation 0101”, “European Youth News Exchange” and “Youth e-Perspectives on Migrations“ projects.
Goran Jablanovic (Croatian RadioTV, Croatia). From 2009 working as Project Coordinator at HRT Academy. Finance and project coordination; workshop organisation. From 1986 till 2009. worked as Technician specialist in video maintenance.
Alodia Quesada (UAB, Barcelona). Journalist, documentary filmmaker, PHD student researching about videogames and media literacy. Specialist in audiovisual content, she currently work at the UAB as responsible of audiovisual area in the “Gabinete de Comunicación y Educación” Research Group.
Danijel Borna Fiket (TELECENTAR, Croatia). Danijel Borna Fiket has 8 years of experience as a multimedia (video, photography, sound, web design) trainer in formal and non-formal training programmes for all age groups from children to senior citizens. He has professional experience in video and film production in commercial and non-commercial projects, including 2 promo films for Croatian Tourist Board and 3 documentaries.
Petra Kovačević (Zagreb University, Croatia). MA in Journalism (FPZG); MA in International Journalism (Cardiff University); PhD candidate (Cardiff University). European Parliament traineeship (October 2014-February 2015), BBC Culture Community Manager (March 2015-September 2015). Video and radio journalist and community manager at HRT (June 2015-ongoing). Teaching associate at FPZG (TV Journalism modules). In 2014 associate on a research project funded by University in Zagreb, “Examining possibilities of digital technology for the advancement of media content of public interest”.
Dalibor Pokec (Croatian Radio TV, Croatia). Born 1979 (Croatia). Working at HRT since 2006. as picture editor and motion graphics designer, and part time trainer for HRT academy in journalism, videojournalism and mobile journalism training. Trainer for Circom Regional for mobile journalism since 2012. Working as a promo producer for HRT since 2015, designing graphics, music and video promos.
Marta Portales (UAB, Barcelona). Master’s degree in Communication and Journalism from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (UAB, 2014) and undergraduate degree in Audiovisual Communication from the University of Valencia (UV, 2013). Currently a member of the research team in Communication and Education (Gabinete de Comuncación y Educación) from the UAB while pursuing doctoral studies in Communication and Journalism in the Department of Journalism (Faculty of Communication Sciences, UAB). Her lines of research are related to the use of mobile devices in different contexts and the acquisition of media literacy competences by young people.
Mathy Vanbuel (ATIT, Belgium). With a background in audio-visual production, Mathy worked for the audio-visual service of the Catholic University of Leuven for more than 15 years as director and production manager. He is a Director of ATiT which he co-founded in 1999 and where he is regularly called upon to offer consultancy services in the integration of specific ICT tools and services in the education process. Mathy was a visiting professor (MultiMediaManagement and eLearning) at KHLIM Katholieke Hogeschool Limburg (Higher Education Institute) in Genk (BE) and Maastricht (NL) as well as a member of several professional bodies. Mathy is author of several publications on the use of media in education, he is trainer and lecturer in the area of media use for education and has been part of the ATiT team creating scenarios of use of (archived and user generated) media in education in the EduTubePlus and EUscreen projects. Mathy is chairperson of the MEDEA Media in Education Judging Committee and Secretary of the Media & Learning Association.
Ivan Granić (Zagreb University, Croatia). MA in Journalism. Working at Croatian national broadcast station (HRT) as video-journalist, and producer. Worked on ECOSMEG – European cosmopolitanism and sites of memory through Europe Project of European union, as an author of mid-lenght documentary film “Witnesses of our past”. The goal of the project was to deepen and diffuse the knowledge of history, testimonies and memorial sites of persecution of Jews and other victims of Nazi-facism. The project intended to raise consciousness knowledge and reflection about the historical origin of EU and of its peaceful and democratic values. Participated in several workshops in the field of audio-visual media such as: Media Literacy with Renee Hobbs (Faculty of Political Science) MOJO – Mobile Journalism (Faculty of Political Science), TV Workshop “Cro id: Who are we” (Faculty of Political Science). Co-director of mid-length documentary film Petite ballerine. A documentary about three generations of balet dancers. Co-director of short documentary film “Never forgotten”. Working at “TV Student” as video-journalist.
Tena Perisin (Zagreb University, Croatia). Associate professor at the Journalism Department at the Faculty of Political Science, Zagreb University. She has been working as a reporter, editor and the producer in the News department at the Croatian public service (HRT). Besides, she was leading a project of digitalization of news production and a project of HRT News channel. Parallelly, Tena Perisin has been successfully pursuing her academic career. She has studied at Harvard University (USA) and at the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University (USA). As an Associate Professor she teaches television and multimedia journalism and production . Her academic interest is future of journalism, convergence and television news in the multimedia environment. She is one of the founders of Student TV established at the Zagreb University. Tena Perišin is a winner of numerous international and national awards for journalism.
Montserrat Rigall i Corominas (RTVE, Spain). Staff writer in TVE. Nowadays she works as a vicedirector of the program El Debat de la 1. She graduated in Journalism at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, she has a postgraduate of Television Report at the Pompeu Fabra University and a Humanity Master at the Barcelona University. She has made some reports in Informe Semanal and she has been trainer in the digitalisation of the writing at the RTVE Institute.
